Valve as the game publisher also gave a little hint that future DOTA 2 tournaments could also be broadcast with virtual reality technology. Just a reminder that the 2016 ESL One: New York tournament will be attended by a total of 8 teams competing for a $250,000 prizepool where the winner will take home $100,000.

Of the eight teams, 6 received direct invitations and the other 2 were teams that passed the qualifying round in Europe and America (NA).
