OG Officially Partners With BMW In Collaboration UnitedInRivalry

BMW officially collaborates with OG Esports in a Heroes of Rivalry campaign. The deal announced on Wednesday (6/4/2021) will cover marketing that ranges from content on social media to jersey sponsorship. The value of this deal was not disclosed, but the company said in its release that OG will fly the BMW flag during esports competitions in 2021.

BMW Esports’ move to add OG Esports as part of the “United in Rivalry” campaign this time is arguably interesting. The German car manufacturing company previously embraced the League of Legends team esports organization. Now OG Esports joins other big teams such as Cloud9, Fnatic, FunPlus Phoenix, G2 Esports, and T1 as BMW partners.

BMW wants to use their design and innovation skills to help shape the discipline (Esports) in the long term. And now, it looks like OG Esports will be part of this vision as well.

“OG Esports provides another boost to United in the Rivalry family. Apart from League of Legends, we are now also involved in Dota 2 – and with a really top team,” said Stefan Ponikva, BMW’s Vice President of Brand Experience, in a press release.

Ponivka continued to explain, “This is a step towards realizing our vision of further immersing ourselves into pop culture Esports and expanding our involvement in this unique scene.”
Apart from these two MOBA games, BMW is also involved with the SIM Racing community which organizes various virtual racing competitions.

Meanwhile, the Chief Executive Officer of OG Esports, JMR Luna, welcomed the partnership with BMW and was honored to be part of this collaboration.

“I grew up with BMW motorcycle posters on my wall… Years later… now that I can work with them, it’s a dream come true. BMW is an amazing brand and company.”

“And they entered the world of esports through partnerships with the five largest organizations in the world. It is an honor for us to be a part of this prestigious group,” said Luna.

OG has indeed become the best performing Dota 2 esports team. Like five other organizations recognized for their success in League of Legends, OG Esports is renowned for its popularity in the Dota 2 scene. They will be part of a manga that Japanese artist Acky Bright is working on. The manga, “United in Rivalry – the Manga” will feature esports teams as heroes in a fantasy world engaged in various adventures. The manga series in collaboration with the esports team will be made up of eight episodes which will be released on BMW Esports social media channels and on BMW.com.

ANA Will Return to OG ?
OG Dota 2 fans have been speculating about Ana’s return for a long time. The Australian born youth became an important part of OG’s victory at The International and other tournament rounds. Currently Ana is still a member of the OG roster with an inactive status.

OG ANA team will return 054e2

In a tweet highlighting the announcements of OG and BMW Esports, N0tail cryptically hid a player behind a stuffed monkey. Many fans believe this is the prodigal son, Ana. Only time will tell whether he returns to the active list or not.
