Piloteer - Fly wonderfully, fail fabulously!

Humans have long dreamed of being able to fly in the air freely like a bird. The invention of the airplane more or less fulfilled this desire, but the number of people who wanted to fly without the help of an airplane finally gave birth to the concept of the Jetpack. And this equipment is the core of the game in Piloteer, a game that was recently released on the AppStore.

When you first enter the game, what stands out the most is the visual style used by Piloteer. The game world and the characters in this game seem to be made of hand-drawn paper, blended into one medium to produce a unique pop-up world. In this game you play as a woman who invented the Jetpack which you can name freely. Armed with a Jetpack hanging from his back, he tries to tell the world that a Jetpack can be used as a safe means of transportation. And yep, your task in Piloteer is to help the heroine to fly in the air using her Jetpack.

Unfortunately, proving that Jetpack is safe to use is actually the most difficult thing in this game because in addition to the unique visual style, the control mechanism in Piloteer is also unique. Just by tapping and holding on the left and bottom right of the screen makes your character fly, while tap and hold on the right side of the screen makes it move to the left and vice versa. It’s quite confusing, especially at the beginning of the game, but after some time you will definitely start to become familiar with the control mechanism like this. On the other hand, pressing the right and left buttons simultaneously will make your character shoot up, and releasing your finger will turn off the Jetpack.

Each level provides several objectives that must be completed, for example in one level you have to do a front flip and then land on a hotdog stand. To do a front flip, you have to tap and hold on the left side of the screen after being in the air, then land with your feet first on the destination. Although it sounds easy, Piloteer’s control mechanism makes it very difficult to execute. In addition, there are many objectives in this game that challenge you to estimate the exact time and distance to perform all the tricks as instructed.

Piloteer is a game that can provide both fun and challenging challenges at the same time, where the unique visual style and control mechanism are at the core of the fun it offers. Without these two things, Piloteer is just a “flying” game. So for those of you who want to have fun with well-executed games, from gameplay, visuals to challenges, Piloteer is the right choice for you.
