Prepare for a Bigger Update, MMORPG Blade & Soul Will Close Server Unreal Engine 4

Blade & Soul’s position as one of the most existent MMORPG franchises throughout the decade still persists to this day. NCSOFT as a developer is proven to be able to maintain its community base and provide full support for their game releases. Unfortunately not all of their plans went smoothly, because recently NCSOFT announced a tough decision to close the Frontier World servers in Blade & Soul Complete.

This dedicated server with a variety of new changes including Unreal Engine 4 graphics support does sound interesting, especially for gamers who want a more optimal gaming experience. It’s just that NCSOFT did not succeed in maximizing their plan to continue to support the existence of the server. In the end they decided to close the server and prepare a refund process for players who already have the latest version of the game.

As an alternative plan, it turns out that the developer has prepared a new major update that will be released in June. Through this update, they will continue to bring graphic overhaul with Unreal Engine 4 and additional content. So instead of trying to realize new graphics that are less than optimal on the Frontier World server, this update focuses more on improving existing assets.

This does not include various other optimizations as well as a series of new updates that will continue to be announced in the next few months. It is undeniable that this new plan does sound more ambitious and structured, so there is a high possibility that Blade & Souls will turn into an even more ambitious MMORPG in the near future.

For those of you who haven’t had time to play Blade & Soul, this game is available on PC and mobile (Android and iOS) in separate versions titled Blade & Soul Revolution. Incidentally, the sequel to the game, entitled Blade & Soul 2, has also been developed for PC and mobile platforms, with a release schedule that has yet to be determined.
