Ready for nostalgia? Ys VI: The Ark of Napishtim Ready to Release on Android and iOS Next Year!

How many of you are familiar with the Ys series? Although its popularity is not as high as most high-end JRPG franchises today, this flagship franchise of developer Nihon Falcom has existed for more than 30 years. This makes it included in the ranks of the first Action RPG ever made. From here the Ys series continues to grow with more new games that tell the epic adventure story of the red-haired swordsman – Adol Christin.

While waiting for the arrival of a new series and the localization of Ys IX: Monstrum NOX next year, fans have recently been presented with a new surprise. Come from manhattan people, they announced that they will be releasing Ys VI: The Ark of Napishtim for mobile devices (Android and iOS). There is not much information shared, but they are planning to release the mobile version in Japan in 2021.

For those of you who are still unfamiliar with the game, Ys VI: The Ark of Napishtim is a classic Action RPG game that was first released on PC in 2003. The game, which later got a PlayStation 2 and PSP version port, tells the story of Adol’s adventures in a mysterious land called Afroca. This game is the first Ys series to offer 3D graphics and a much more overhauled gameplay than the previous series. Hopefully the release of the mobile version can bring more new changes including gameplay improvements.

So like the information above, Ys VI: The Ark of Napishtim will be released for Android and iOS in 2021. Although this mobile version will only be released in Japan, there is a high possibility that a global version will follow. Especially considering that several other classic Ys games are also available on the Google Play Store and App Store.
