Sony Unveils New, More Immersive PSVR Controller For PlayStation 5

The presence of the PlayStation 5 which started the era of a new generation of consoles from Sony has encouraged them to continue to innovate. Apart from perfecting their console technology, they also want to offer the best and most immersive gaming experience possible. Of course, all of that can only be realized with adequate device support, for example, such as PlayStation VR/PSVR which will get a new controller specifically for PlayStation 5.

This announcement was delivered directly by Hideaki Nishino through a post on PlayStation Blog. Following the announcement of the new PlayStation VR system that is being prepared, Sony has been able to share a few details of its latest controller which is specially designed to offer a much more immersive gaming experience. This also includes the implementation of the Haptic Feedback technology already in DualSense.

In terms of design, the controller has a round shape like an orb so that it can be held more comfortably and naturally. This design concept has been through a process of observation for decades with many trials so that it can fit various shapes to the size of the user’s hand. The result itself is a controller that looks iconic and more attractive to look at.

As we mentioned earlier, this VR controller for PlayStation 5 is equipped with Haptic Feedback technology to strengthen the sensation of playing. The features it offers are certainly not only that, because this controller also has a special tracking feature, finger touch detection to ensure natural movement gestures in gameplay, to analog sticks that have been arranged in such a way that they are easy to press.

Of course this is still a small part of the other interesting details that are still being kept by Sony, so it will be interesting to see what other innovations they have in store for the next generation PSVR platform.
