Still Continuing, MAPPA Continues To Get Criticism From Animators For Low Salaries

For those of you who at least continue to follow the development of anime and continue to watch anime from season to season at least for the last few years, you must be right about one of the studios that is currently on the rise, namely MAPPA. The studio has recently been known for making hype anime such as Attack on Titan Final Season to Jujutsu Kaisen.

But unfortunately, lately the name of the MAPPA studio is getting tarnished because several animators who have worked on animation have complained on social media one by one. Recently, Twitter account @daifukuFD had written on his account about a working condition in a studio. He mentioned that his experience as an animator in Japan for 5 years was not very appreciated.

It says: “I took a job working on an anime film production for a studio that released its promotional video and is very popular these days. However, I was surprised to learn that the per-frame payout is 250 Yen (IDR 32,000). The pay is of course terrible for a large film production because it demands very high quality.”

Suddenly, the post was quite viral in Japan and also invited several other animators who expressed more or less the same complaint, namely the very low pay.

Although not explicitly mention the name of the studio, a well-known forum in Japan like Yaraon! mention that @daifukuFD I mean studio MAPPA. For those of you who understand, studio MAPPA is currently working on an anime film project for Jujutsu Kaisen which will be aired on December 24, 2021 in Japan. It is possible that the film in question is indeed the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 film which is being worked on by the MAPPA studio.

Studio MAPPA is currently working on many anime projects such as Chainsaw Man, Film Jujutsu Kaisen, takt:op. Destiny, as well as Attack on Titan Final Season Part 2. Hopefully if this is true, MAPPA can immediately fix this situation and of course it will lead to better animation quality.
