Top 5 Dota 2 Players Shining on WePlay AniMajor
WePlay AniMajor’s second Major Tournament has almost completed the group stage. Some of the eliminated teams had to go home without prizes or DPC points, while 6 teams competed to qualify for the most exciting phase of the tournament, the playoffs.
WePlay AniMajor has presented exciting matches and amazing action from some players like Artour “Arteezy” Babaev and Amer “Miracle-” Al-Barkawi. Individual performances have been a catalyst in the success of their respective teams. As players prepare for the WePlay AniMajor Playoffs, which are scheduled to kick off on June 9, 2021, let’s take a moment to take a look at the top 5 players who have wowed fans in the Dota 2 Major so far.
Top 5 Dota 2 Players on WePlay AniMajor Group Stage
1. NothingToSay
Cheng “NothingToSay” Jin Xiang was a midlaner who was little known on the international scene before the start of WePlay AniMajor. However, he proved himself to be not only the best midlaner but also the best player in the event. Whether it’s farming efficiency, laning prowess in 1v1 midlane combat, teamfight execution, or spellcasting abilities, he’ll bring it to the table. Lina and Magnus have been his flagship heroes and PSG’s opponents. LGD should consider banning them as early as possible in the draft.
In one of the few games where NothingToSay is consistently targeted by his enemies, he manages to wow the audience with his superb ‘Skewer into Fountain’. NothingToSay reaches 12K MMR
2. Miracle-
The return of Miracle- was warmly welcomed by Team Nigma fans. The midlaner proved his ability through some amazing games with his signature heroes like Invoker. At AniMajor’s ongoing WePlay tournament, Amer “Miracle-” Al-Barkawi proved that he still hasn’t lost his touch of magic and is solid playing in the midlane. His constant rotation and playability also keeps enemies from gaining a foothold, giving Nigma an advantage.
iLTW will take on the role of farming while Miracle- begins hunting for enemy heroes who play aggressive gameplay that led to Nigma’s success in this tournament.

3. XinQ
Thanks to his strong and consistent performance as a support for PSG.LGD, Zhao “XinQ” Zixing is starting to shine in 2021. XinQ has been competing in the Chinese Dota 2 scene since 2014, but he really exploded onto the scene at the end of the year. In addition to having a large hero pool, he made a significant contribution to the team during the group stage.
The specialty of XinQ is its instinct to chase enemy carry. Even if he can’t kill the carry, he’s constantly trying to zone him which shrinks the enemy’s map, leaving enemies scrambling for farming. His excellent target priorities in the early game as well as in teamfights have been the main driver of PSG.LGD’s early success in this tournament.
4. Arteezy
While Evil Geniuses players like Abed and iceiceice seem to be relaxed, it could be due to the fact that they have secured a TI10 slot, Artour “Arteezy” Babaev, still giving his best. Arteezy played his signature Illusion heroes like Phantom Lancer, Dragon Siren, and Terrorblade in the Major, having a win rate of 80% plus. On non-Illusion heroes too, he has excelled in the laning phase and used this early lead to make some bad rotations.
Arteezy’s team fight execution is also precise with its movement on the map by prioritizing the right heroes and with all the great mechanical skills, Arteezy delivers amazing gameplay. It will be interesting to see if he can continue this momentum towards the playoffs.
5. Gabbi
Kim “Gabbi” Villafuerte is the most consistent player on the TNC Predator team. His performances in the TNC game were outstanding, especially during the laning phase. Apart from the specialty of traditional carry heroes, it is this unconventional hero that has given him much success in WePlay AniMajor. The player has shined in games where he has played using non-meta carry such as Position 1 Magnus and Position 1 Ax to dominate his opponents.
The one-twos delivered by Gabbi and Armel, saw TNC Predator strike a punch above their weight in certain clashes against Tier 1 teams like Team Nigma and played a vital role in securing a place in the playoffs.
In addition to the top five players mentioned above, players like MinD_ContRoL, poyoyo, and Armel have also delivered flawless performances. In the playoffs, it will be interesting to see which players will shine.
