Topson reveals the recipe for success as a Dota 2 Pro Player

Topias Miikka Taavitsainen or popular with the name Topson shares the key recipe for a successful career as a Dota 2 pro player. Topson started his career in two teams: SFTe-sports and 5 Anchors No Captain before joining the OG team in 2018. Since then, this Finnish youth adventure has been like streaking meteor. Together with N0tail, Ceb, ana, and JerAx, Topson managed to grab the highest trophy of The International (TI) 8.

Topson became a legend after successfully achieving the dream of ‘from zero to hero’. He became the most valued and effective midlaner in TI8 even though two months earlier he was a nobody, just an unknown Finnish player. Although many considered their victory at that time to be like the story of Cinderella, a year later, on August 25, 2019, OG succeeded in doing back-to-back champions to become TI9 champions. Topson has officially become a pro player with 2 TI titles.

Topson revealed that the luck factor can indeed support professional career success, but it cannot be used as a foundation for achievement. Well, this is not just a cliché opinion or opinion. Just so you know, Topson has started playing DOta 2 since he was 8 years old. He then had time to study to become a chef / chef but then decided to fully pursue Dota 2 and become a pro player. Presumably, it’s fitting if we get the recipe from this former chef. 🙂

In an interview session before playing the match against Hellbear Smashers at the DPC EU 2021 Season 2, Topson said that joining the OG team required a hard work ethic and mentality not to give up easily. As evidence, after winning the TI8 title, Topson did not relax or be lulled. He continues to rank up. OG’s success in winning back-to-back champion The International has become one of the most talked about topics in Dota2 and the global esports world.

In the interview, the 24-year-old man also mentioned the esports scene in his country, Finland. According to him, there are more people playing CS:GO than DOta 2.

“I think Esports is quite big in Finland. In terms of the number of players, Dota may still not match CS:GO, I think there are quite a lot of pro and CS:GO players. Jessie (JerAx) has retired from Dota but there is still Matu and there is good talent in Finland, even in Dota. I hope we get another breakthrough at some point. “

Talking about the luck factor in one’s professional career, Topson stated,
“I started playing Dota for the first time when I was 8 years old. That means it’s been 15 years since I played for the first time. But in the past I didn’t play much, just trying here and there. From then on, things seemed to be on their way, of course, there was more to it than suddenly getting into the OG team by luck. I mean, of course, there’s luck involved… it happens, but of course, there’s a lot of hard work and dedication and never giving up, only then do we need a little luck. ”

OG aim to break their own record by becoming the first Dota 2 team to win TI three times. With the return of the ‘humblegod’, ana, they began to pursue that dream in the second season of the 2021 DPC EU.
OG currently has two wins and one loss from three draws in the Upper Division. They are preparing to face Tundra Esports on May 5, 2021.
