TSUBASA+ Has Released in 7 European Regions

TSUBASA+ is a real-world game where players can use their GPS and cellphone to create a real-world view of Yoichi Takahashi’s internationally popular manga Captain Tsubasa. On September 30, 2020, TSUBASA+ will be released in 7 European regions; United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Belgium and the Netherlands.

Overview

As written above, TSUBASA+ will use the GPS system of the player’s handheld device to bring the world of Captain Tsubasa to the real world. When players visit the TSUBASA+ soccer stadiums scattered throughout the city, their characters will interact with Captain Tsubasa characters and certain real-world soccer players. TSUBASA+Player will be able to fight these characters by stacking and throwing 5 colored energy balls. If they win, the character defeated by the player will become a TSUBASA+Teammate.

Each TSUBASA+Player will choose and play a team with 2 characters from their TSUBASA+Teammate to build a 3 person team to fight other TSUBASA+Players. Players can strengthen their character’s skills by doing battles above or by training sessions in TSUBASA+Stadium. In addition to practicing their skills, players will be able to build their character’s strength by using the items they get when they have more than one TSUBASA+Teammate in common.

In addition to keeping in mind social-distancing restrictions in countries around the world, a feature to play from home has been added. When at home, TSUBASA+Player will be able to teleport freely across the map for a limited time. They can meet other players as long as both players follow each other, and compete in limited-time challenges in TSUBASA+Stadium under certain conditions.

TSUBASA+Supporters

Andres Iniesta, a former member of the Spanish National Football Team who now plays for Vissel Kobe, has been named the first official TSUBASA+ supporter. To commemorate his inauguration, the TSUBASA+ team is proud to provide some of the interviews with Iniesta which are available on their official website.

I’m personally very excited to be appointed as an official supporter. Captain Tsubasa has been my favorite series for a long time, and now I am able to be part of it here in Japan. I have been able to meet the author, Yoichi Takahashi, and the producers of the animation. Now TSUBASA+! This is more than another game! Like the animation, it is about more than just football, but about the spirit of all sport. This not only helps us to understand the game, but also creates a sense of companionship. I feel that this app brings an innovation into the world. I myself would like to play against Ozora Tsubasa, Kojiro Hyaga, and Jun Misugi, and indeed along side them. This game is a true mixture of the real world and animation characters. I’m really happy to be part of this project and I wish it to be successful! -Andres Iniesta
