Umbrella Corps Game Preview ~ The battle of mercenaries in a zombie-infested city
Although it offers a fairly interesting game concept, namely squad-based combat, unfortunately Operation Raccoon City is not equipped with solid gameplay so it is less attractive to gamers. But Capcom apparently hasn’t given up on this concept and is trying to present it once again through its newest game project, Umbrella Corps. Taking place after the events in Resident Evil 6 ended, Umbrella’s power finally fell. Even so, there is still a lot of data or their property that is left behind so that it becomes a bone of contention for 3 influential companies. For that they sent mercenary troops to control the remnants of Umbrella’s relics so that finally, a war in the midst of an area inhabited by zombies ensued…
In terms of gameplay, Umbrella Corps offers a game similar to Operation Raccoon City where players will be divided into 2 teams and tasked with eliminating each other, while watching out for zombies and other vicious creatures that still roam the area. There are 3 character classes that you can choose from, namely Assault, Short Range and Tactical, each of which is equipped with different equipment and weapons. Talking about equipment, gamers can find a number of interesting equipment such as the Zombie Jammer which makes your character ignored by the zombies around you, Debrainer, a pickaxe that serves to immobilize zombies easily, and many more.
For gamers who are familiar with Counter-Strike-style games, we can play Umbrella Corps in first-person, or third-person if you prefer Gears of War-style games. A number of other features are also included in this game such as a cover system, plus the ability to “use” zombies as shields. Is this time Capcom can show a better shooter game?
