Since the launch of Valorant, the number of Counter Strike players has reportedly decreased a lot. Apparently, this new PC game is starting to attract CS:GO fans because of its very similar gameplay. Even a line of pro CS:GO players are slowly stepping down to become professional gamers of Valorant.

Starting from the pro gamers Brax then moving on to Hiko, and others, reporting that they will start their careers in this new Riot Games PC game. A number of esports organizations have also started to form a pro roster for Valorant, from T1, TSM, Immortals, Gen.G, Sentinels, to 100 Thieves.

Here are some CS pro players who decided to switch careers to Valorant.

Pro Player CS:GO Officially Becomes the Valorant Roster

Braxton “Brax” Pierce, the first CS:GO pro player to announce his retirement. This was officially announced via T1’s twitter a few months before the game was launched.

Previously, on February 28, Brax himself had posted on his social media that he would be starting a new competitive career in Valorant. He himself will continue to play CS:GO but will not be able to take part in future competitions.

“I can’t wait to bring my CS knowledge and understanding to Valorant as we build the best Valorant team in the world,” said Brax.

Hiko

Spencer “Hiko” Martin, the popular CS:GO streamer, has announced that he is officially the team leader for 100 Thieves, the pro Valorant team.

The plan, Hiko will move to Los Angeles, United States, after this corona pandemic subsides. Then, start to form a strong roster to compete in Valorant esports matches.

Skadoodle

Tyler “Skadoodle” Latham is the last Valorant pro player to join the T1 esports organization. They have officially brought Skadoodle to the Valorant roster via their social media accounts:

“Our Valorant roster is now complete, and they are ready to dominate the tournament area. Let’s welcome Skadoodle into T1!”

For CS:GO fans, of course you know Skadoodle’s incredible history as long as he was a pro player with Cloud9. Especially, C9’s win at the 2018 ELEAGUE Boston Major in the grand finals.

Like the others, Son “xeta” Seon-Ho, one of the best CS:GO pro players from South Korea, retired from CS:GO and officially became a Valorant player.

Xeta has a pretty impressive history. Although he himself never managed to win a major or playoff in big LAN, Xeta managed to get into the MVP PK team, and competed with Kang “solo” Keun-chul, a legendary pro from Korea.


Of course, the line of players who decided to start a career as a Valorant roster did not stop here. Keven “AZK” Lariviere, Austin “Crashies” Roberts, and others were also ruled out of CS:GO matches and games.

In the future, various esports organizations will start recruiting new members for this new PC game.

Currently, there are no more complete details from Riot Games regarding esports matches for Valorant. However, we can predict the potential of Valorant in the days ahead.
