What’s your favorite fighter plane?

After a long wait of almost 7 years (Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation 2007 release), Bandai Namco will release the 7th series of the Ace Combat series or the 17th title of the total of all Ace Combat series. The latest series entitled Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown It is planned to be released in 2021. To increase the hype for you Ace Combat fans, GameFever has prepared an article that discusses the profile of GameFever’s selected fighter planes that have appeared in the Ace Combat game series and how to get them.

1. ADA-01B ADLER

  • Role : Attacker
  • Games & Unlocks:
    • Ace Combat Infinity: Available via Aircraft Tree after researching ADFX-02 MORGAN and ADF-01 FALKEN.
  • Trivia: Adler was originally going to be launched with Falken in Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War. However, due to time constraints, this plane finally failed to fly with Falken in the game. In addition to being designed as an attacker, the aircraft has the capacity to accommodate the “Burst Missile” weapons used by the Hrimfaxi and Scimfaxy submarines in Ace Combat 5 The Unsung War. Unfortunately, unlike the Falken, this aircraft cannot accommodate the “Tactical Laser System”.

2. ADF-01 FALKEN

  • Role : Fighter
  • Games & Unlock:
    • Ace Combat Infinity – Can be unlocked via Aircraft Tree.
    • Ace Combat: Assault Horizon Legacy – Shoot 15 aces OR complete all CAMPAIGN, SURVIVAL and EXTRA missions. Price 288.000 credits.
    • Ace Combat: Joint Assault – Unlocks after completing Special Mission 2: Ace of Aces. The price is $1,696,600.
    • Ace Combat X: Skies of Deception – Unlocks after completing Operation X for the first time. Price 140,500 credits.
    • Ace Combat Zero: Belkan War – Can be purchased after obtaining the Supreme Mercenary, Supreme Soldier, Supreme Knights medals.
    • Ace Combat 5: Unsung War – Unlocks after destroying 15 hidden FALKEN hangars in the campaign mission.
    • Ace Combat 2 – Unobtainable (boss only)
  • Trivia: While the Adler was designed for Air-to-Ground, the Falken was designed for Air-to-Air Combat. has the capacity to accommodate the “Tactical Laser System”. The ADF-01 Falken was the first original aircraft for Ace Combat, and also the first aircraft to have an enclosed cockpit.

3. GAF-1 VARCOLAC

  • Role : Multirole
  • Games & Unlock:
    • Ace Combat Infinity – Can be unlocked via Aircraft Tree.
    • Ace Combat: Joint Assault – Can be purchased after completing Reprisal and obtaining an S rank on the Ace difficulty. Price $1,024,400.
  • Trivia : This unique aircraft is specially made for Ace Combat Joint Assault. Designed according to the pilot’s capabilities, Captain Milosj Sulejmani’s Varcolac has high maneuverability and an automated gun system that can fire all missiles that attack this aircraft.

4. ADFX-02 MORGAN

  • Role : Multirole
  • Games & Unlock:
    • Ace Combat Zero: Belkan War – Completed the campaign 3 times, with 3 different style aces (Mercenary, Knight, Soldier)
  • Trivia : One of them, the Next Generation Fighter ADF-O1 Falken is a spiritual successor to this aircraft. In Ace Combat Zero: The Belkan War, after defeating Pixy, Grunder Industri then takes this wreck and makes ADF-01 Falken wake up from the footage of our fight with Pixy.

5. XR-45 CARIBURN

  • Role : Fighter
  • Games & Unlock:
    • Ace Combat: Joint Assault – Complete mission 12A: Nightwatch (12A) on the Ace difficulty 2 times OR complete the multiplayer mission Join Assault mission 3&4: Red and Black on the Ace difficulty 2 times. Price $248,900.
    • Ace Combat XI: Skies of Incursion – Available from the start of the game.
    • Ace Combat X: Skies of Deception – Complete Strike Point OR Blitz. Price 29,000 credits.
  • Trivia : The origin of the name Cariburn is Caliburn, another name for Excalibur, King Arthur’s sword. This aircraft has a unique control system named COFFIN or Connection for Flight Interface where the cockpit is fully closed and the aircraft is controlled by the pilot via a Mind connected via ENSI (Electro-Neuron-Synapse-Interface).

6. XFA-27

  • Role : Fighter / Multirole
  • Games & Unlock:
    • Ace Combat Infinity – Can be unlocked via Aircraft Tree.
    • Ace Combat: Assault Horizon Legacy – Can be unlocked after attaining the rank of Brigadier General. The price is 255,000 credits.
    • Ace Combat: Join Assault – After completing the second campaign, complete mission 19: Dessert Gust on the Ace difficulty. Price $380,000.
    • Ace Combat: Skies of Incursion – Complete the game once on the Easy difficulty
    • Ace Combat: Skies of Deception – Complete mission 03B: Captive City. Price $26,000.
    • Ace Combat 2 – Destroy Fox Force Four squadrons in “Dead End” AND complete missions in Extra Mode of any difficulty. The price is $500,000.
    • Trivia : One of the original planes made by Project Ace that appeared with Falken in Ace Combat 2. This plane is also the only one that is not given a code name which finally made the player community make a special call for this plane, namely XFA-27 Scarface 1.

7. X-49 NIGHT RAVEN

  • Role : Advanced Fighter / Multirole
  • Games & Unlock:
    • Ace Combat Infinity – Can be unlocked via Aircraft Tree.
    • Ace Combat 3: Electrosphere – Complete all missions rated A on the normal difficulty or higher.
  • Trivia: The Night Raven is the only aircraft with a unique design similar to the Spriridus. Giant fighter planes in the game Ace Combat Joint Assault for PSP

8. R-101 DELPHINUS

  • Role : Fighter / Attacker
  • Games & Unlock:
    • Ace Combat Infinity – Can be unlocked via Aircraft Tree.
    • Ace Combat 3: Electrosphere – Complete the Scramble with an A rank.
  • Trivia : Delphinus comes from the Latin word for dolphin.

9. ASF-X SHINDEN II

  • Role : Multirole
  • Games & Unlock:
    • Ace Combat Infinity – Can be unlocked via Aircraft Tree. Price 432,000 credits.
    • Ace Combat: Assault Horizon – Must be purchased and downloaded via PSN or Xbox Live.
  • Trivia : Shinden was designed by Shoji Kawamori, who is best known for his work Macross.

10. CFA-44 NOSFERATU

  • Role : Fighter / Multirole
  • Games & Unlock:
    • Ace Combat Infinity – Can be unlocked via Aircraft Tree. Price 432,000 credits.
    • Ace Combat: Assault Horizon – Only obtainable through “Online Map Pack” (DLC)
    • Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation – Unlocked after completing the main campaign on Hard difficulty. Price 229,500 credits.
  • Trivia: The Nosferatu is the only aircraft that has the capability to use an ADMM (All-Directional-Multipurpose-Missile) which can be fired vertically from the back of the aircraft.
