China is Building a 17-meter-tall Gundam Robot Statue – A 17-meter-tall Gundam robot is under construction in China. Here’s what it looks like!
Gundam is one of the famous anime franchises and is liked by many people. What’s more special than Gundam is the shape of the robot that is used as a model kit. Where people can assemble a lot of cool Gundam model robots. The Gundam model kit has also been included as a collectible item whose price is quite expensive.
Apart from that, there is interesting news coming about Gundam. Recently China has just announced that they are working on a giant Gundam set. The Gundam statue is rumored to be 59 feet or 17 meters high.

The statue will be the first to be officially licensed and standing outside of Japan. This Gundam statue will be built in Mitsui Shopping Park owned by Japan in LaLaport, Shanghai. If things go according to plan, the Gundam statue is scheduled to open to the public sometime in 2021.
It should be noted that it is not the first Gundam statue built in China. In 2009, a Gundam statue was also built in Szechwan. However, due to copyright reasons, this statue was eventually destroyed.
