As a result, many people are bored because of the limited activities at home. This is why they choose video games as entertainment during the quarantine period.

People started buying games to fill their boredom time. This causes many games to experience a sharp increase in sales. An example of a game that has just been released from Nintendo is Animal Crossing New Horizon. This game managed to sell 1.8 million copies in just three days.

The sales data is only calculated from physical sales only. Not including the sale of coffee, which is certainly many times more.

According to research analysis conducted by Global x, not only sales have skyrocketed but also the time one spends playing games has also increased. In mid-March 2021 alone, time spent playing games increased by 65% over the previous year.
