Gambit Esports Successfully Wins PGL Major Krakow 2017 After Defeating Immortals
The Gambit Esports team managed to come out as champions at the PGL Major Krakow 2017 after defeating the Immortals team in the Grand Final round. This is the first time the Gambit Esports team has won a major for the first time.
In this Grand Final event, the Immortals team was the first team to choose a map and they chose Cobblestone then Gambit Esports chose Train and for the third Map the chosen one was Inferno after the Immortals team vetoed the Overpass map.
In the first map, Cobblestone, the Immortals team played very well. They managed to lead far until the first half with a score of 12-3. Where Henrique “HEN1” Teles from Immortals managed to clutch 1 VS 3 to prevent the Immortals team from gaining momentum to get a few rounds at the end of the game.
For the second half, the Immortals team managed to get a pistol round which is very important in the CS:GO game. This caused the Gambit Esports team to be unable to do much and had to give up the first map with a final score of 16-4 for the Immortals team.
For the second map, Train, Gambit played well by being a Terrorist for the first half. They managed to get the advantage first, but when the Immortals team had enough economy, they tried to fight back using a double-AWP setup. In the end, the Gambit team won the first half with a score of 9-6.
For the second half, Gambit used a 3A-2B strategy and made it quite difficult for the Immortals team to take the site. Therefore, the Immortals team made many mistakes and made the Gambit team manage to equalize 1-1 with a win on the Train 16-11 map. Rustem “mou” Telepov from Gambit managed to get 28 kills and had a significant impact on the Gambit team.
Then in the deciding round, the Gambit team chose to be the CT on the Inferno map and managed to get an advantage at the beginning of the game up to 5-0. They played very well and were able to make the Immortals team only get 4 rounds in the first half so the score became 11-4 for the Gambit team.
In the second half the Immortals team managed to get a pistol round and keep them in the game. They managed to get a few rounds and they ended up taking a hit economically after failing to crack 4 VS 2 at 14-10. This became the momentum for the Gambit team to finish the match with a final score of 16-10.
The Gambit team managed to come out as champions at the 2017 PGL Major Krakow and were entitled to a prize of $500,000, – and they managed to get 1 place with the Legends in CS:GO history.
