League of Legends 'Clubs' Feature Announced To Be Removed

The ‘Clubs’ feature in League of Legends has been officially removed – LoL has officially removed the Clubs service. Here are the details!

A number of League of Legends or LoL players don’t seem to like this information. This is related to the developer of the League of Legends game announcing that they will remove the Clubs feature or service from LoL. This deletion will certainly affect League Client and mobile users.

Riot Removes Clubs from League of Legends

In a blog post, Riot Games explained that they had made the decision to remove Clubs. The main reason why the Clubs feature was removed is that Riot Games is evolving its communication tools and fixing technological problems. Currently, players are faced with many communication platforms such as TeamSpeak, Mumble and Discord. All these communication or chat platforms have new systems, this of course makes Clubs features or services look obsolete.

Riot also explains how the technology they apply to Clubs in LoL compares it to other platforms’ communication and chat systems.

Maybe Riot could just update updates or fix bugs. But this time they don’t want just Clubs updates or fixes. Moreover, they also don’t want to focus on rebuilding Clubs League of Legends completely.

What Riot Games means by this is that they want to focus on what’s best for the players and League of Legends itself. They leave innovation to management to completely create communication features like Discord and other platforms.

Although this is quite disappointing for some players who still enjoy the Clubs LoL feature. The Clubs communication service will be officially removed at the end of 2021. In the future, Riot will continue to provide information regarding communication and chat features in the future.
