Officially Closed, Shenmue III Fundraising Reaches 7 Million US Dollars
The funds collected almost touched the figure of 102 billion Rupiah.
Fundraising (crowdfunding) on Kickstarter is indeed an alternative to seeking financial support from various parties. Players in the gaming industry also often hold fundraisers on Kickstarter to get financial support from fans to help them work on projects that will be or are being worked on.
For example developers YS Net, which opened a fundraiser for their upcoming game project, Shenmue III. First announced at E3 2021, YS Net immediately held a fundraiser for Shenmue III. For 3 years and officially closed for some time, YS Net reports that the fundraiser for Shenmue III on Kickstarter has raised 7 million US Dollars or approximately 102 billion Rupiah from a total of 81,087 backers (donors).
On its official website, YS Net did not forget to thank the supporters who have donated funds for the development of Shenmue III. YS Net promises that the remaining 10 months will be put to good use so as not to disappoint the fans and supporters involved in the fundraising campaign on Kickstarter.
Shenmue III is scheduled to be released for PlayStation 4 and PC on August 27, 2021.
