PS5 Surpasses PS4 Sales in Its First Fiscal Year

More recently, the PS5 has surpassed sales of the PS4 in its inaugural fiscal year. Furthermore, the PlayStation 5 was several thousand units ahead of the PlayStation 4 console in the same time period.

So, how many units have been sold since the PS5 was released? Let’s see the following article to the end.

According to available information, the PlayStation 5 has sold 7.8 million units and ended on March 31, 2021. Meanwhile, the PlayStation 4 sold 7.6 million units, losing 200 thousand to the console next-gen. Interestingly, sales of the PlayStation 5 have had little effect on the pandemic.

Daniel Ahmad said that Sony’s Games and Services Division managed to generate revenue of $25 billion. Meanwhile, hardware sales rose 20% from the previous year and digital software 21% (including microtransactions and DLC). This increase is allegedly due to the large number of free games that players can play.

The hope is that Sony can continue the positive trend and earn even more. Even so, with the minimal supply of semiconductors, it could be that the supply of the PlayStation 5 will be slightly hampered.

PlayStation Network may not function normally for some time. Some services such as the PlayStation Store and PlayStation Network are not accessible to users, making PS4 and PS5 users confused. Several developers also confirmed this on their Social Media accounts.

Furthermore, the reason why the PlayStation Network service is experiencing problems is not explained. However, Sony has moved quickly to remedy this.
