Virtus.Pro Absent At CS:GO IEM Oakland Tournament
Virtus.Pro (VP) announced on their Facebook page that they will not be taking part in the Oakland IEM CS:GO tournament. The VP who was the champion of ELEAGUE Season 1 was replaced by another European team, Heroic.
This statement was announced by the VP a week before the tournament which will be held at Oracle Arena, Oakland, United States. “This decision has been well thought out and we are forced to take it,” said VP general manager Roman Dvoryankin.
Virtus.Pro will miss the chance to win the grand prize pool of $300,000, moreover VP is sure to get a warm welcome from the United States public. They argued that they wanted to give their players enough rest time to welcome the ELEAGUE Season 2 tournament.
Team Heroic who replaced the VP at IEM Oakland was likened to a “collapsed durian”, because in the recent ESL Pro League Season 4 tournament they played badly and were only in 12th place with a score of 8-18. In addition to the CS:GO Virtus.Pro team, yesterday it was also reported that the League of Legends Immortals, Splyce’s and Team SoloMid teams were also absent from the Oakland IEM tournament.
