Bandai Namco Working on Their Most Expensive Game Project With Director Tekken!

The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic has indeed made the development of some games even more hampered. This is especially felt by developer Bandai Namco who is currently busy with new projects such as Tales of Arise. Even so, they remained committed to embarking on an even bigger and most expensive project in the company’s history.

This information appeared through the livestream event Piro Live! New Year’s Eve Special 2021 some time ago. Where Katsuhiro Harada said that he was appointed to handle the large-scale project. This project has received approval from the superiors at Bandai Namco, however, Harada and his team have not been able to start the development process due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Because of his role as the director behind the Tekken fighting game franchise, many fans assumed that this project might be the newest Tekken series. However, it should also be noted that Harada was involved in several other game projects outside the fighting genre. Harada even added that he probably won’t be making any other fighting game besides Tekken, so this large-scale project could be a completely new game.

For now, it’s clear that fans can only wait and speculate. Whether it’s a new fighting game, a new JRPG, or an AAA game with a scale that rivals world-renowned developers, it’s clear that Bandai Namco is ready to make a new breakthrough through this latest game project.
