Not So Open-World? Square Enix Shares New Details of Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 2
It seems undeniable that Final Fantasy VII Remake is one of the best games in 2020. This game that feels like a dream until it finally becomes a reality has managed to show high-end quality and a new appeal for a real Final Fantasy game. Following the release of the first game that includes the Midgar portion, many fans of course can’t wait for the continuation of Part 2.
In order to give fans a little relief, recently the Square Enix developer team gave a little update regarding Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 2. So through a new interview session with CEDEC, the development team discussed the story behind the development of this remake project as well as some other interesting details.
All right CEDEC+ Kyushu 2020 Online, let’s see what interesting info about the FF7R development Kitase and Hamaguchi have to say!

So the game project started with producer Shinji Hashimoto’s idea who wanted to make a game with visuals like Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. The idea was then approved by the senior talent at Square Enix who wanted to take on the challenge and realize the dream project. Co-director Naoki Hamaguchi commented on how important story focus is in this remake.
They want to make the game have a strong storyline as one of the main focuses. This includes how the game doesn’t need to be designed on an open-world basis. So that more emphasis on the environment with a limited scope but seem more alive. This means that fans’ predictions that Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 2 will have an open-world map like the original series could be wrong.
Talking about the original series, the developer team also wants to present the story in a different direction. They do not completely follow the existing pattern, but bring some new elements that are fresher. Although not all fans can accept it, they believe that this change will still bring big surprises and a memorable playing experience.
When is the Game Released?
So as you know, Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 2 is currently still under development. But the good news is that fans probably won’t have to wait too long for the release as was the case with the first game.
