Top Clans 2020 from NetEase is Coming Soon #ThisIsPassion

NetEase wants to maintain the momentum of esports in Southeast Asia with Top Clans 2020 starting on September 25th. Due to the various quarantine and lockdown systems in different countries, NetEase has made all the matches of the year online.

This year Top Clans 2020 has grown to support 5 games. Rules of Survival returns from last year and will join Dota 2, MARVEL Super War, TEKKEN 7, and the new NetEase game, Tom and Jerry: Chase.

While esports has been impacted by the pandemic, it is one of those sports that has not been significantly affected. Many other sports, such as the NBA, have had to close games this season, or have had to reduce their capacity considerably.

On the other hand, esports also had to close some of its big tournaments. But esports have adapted to running multiple online events because of their capacity to keep matches running without having to bring players to the same arena.

In addition, NetEase has also run their #ThisIsPassion campaign to share the experiences of stakeholders in this industry. NetEase will continue to uphold their ‘ingenuity and innovation’ philosophy which means ingenuity and innovation, and will continue to work with various partners around the world to create high quality games that players will love. Passion is what drives people to livestream, to become the newest esports athlete, and to be a spectator watching them play.

Of course, NetEase cannot forget the contributions of various livestream platforms such as Twitch, NimoTV, and eGG Network that helped Netflix bring these games to life during the pandemic. NetEase has worked closely with all of these streaming platforms to ensure that all viewers can continue to support their favorite players and teams in Top Clans 2020.

Their other partners include Likee, an app for creating and sharing short videos. In addition there is also Kumu, the Philippines community platform where one can get paid by being a livestreamer, win money by playing live games, and earn money by participating in various promotions. These two platforms are just examples of the rapid development of esports in Southeast Asia.

The association of game developers, publishers, brands, esports athletes, and casual gamers, has given the esports industry the opportunity to show its resilience compared to other professional sports. Because of this, esports is constantly evolving, with NetEase at the forefront with other industry leaders behind them to continue to bring the best competitive and viewing experience to all.

It’s not easy to start the journey into esports. That’s why NetEase has taken the initiative to acknowledge all the heroes behind this story to inspire the world with it. Everyone is invited to submit their #ThisIsPassion story to topclanspr@service.netease.com and be a part of this campaign.
