Captain America Director Will Handle Project Narnia: The Silver Chair

According to reports from Variety, director Captain America: The First Avenger and The Rocketeers, Joe Johnston has been appointed to handle the follow-up project of Narnia franchise which will raise the title Narnia: The Silver Chair. This project will be based on the series Chronicles of Narnia by CS Lewis, published in 2005.

The story of this new film will tell about the cousin of the Pevensie children named Eustace Scrubb. He will adventure to the fairy tale land of Narnia to save the child from the kidnapped Prince Caspian.

The project was first revealed last summer under the supervision of producer Sara Smith. The production house that will be involved in the production process of this film is The Mark Gordon Company along with TriStar Pictures, CS Lewis Company, and Entertainment One. Meanwhile, Sony, together with Entertainment One, will be the distributors.

Until this news was revealed, no official release date has been set by the studio.
