Gacha More Careful! Here are Tips for Consistently Getting 5-Star Characters in Genshin Impact!
Gacha in Genshin Impact does include something that is very optional and doesn’t need to be looked at. But we certainly can’t take our eyes off the waifu and husbando that we can get right in front of our eyes, right? This is indeed a problem that always haunts many Genshin Impact gamers, where they will not feel satisfied and even lose their motivation to play if they haven’t got their coveted 5-star character.
This of course encourages the desire to wish which in many moments tends to end with disappointing results. Not surprising of course, considering the rate of 5-star characters/items in Genshin Impact is indeed very low. So instead of having to throw away your Primogems and Fate currency, it’s time to implement a more careful strategy.
With the motivation to provide enlightenment to players who like to hesitate when doing gacha, here we have summarized tips so that you can consistently get 5-star characters in Genshin Impact. Curious how? Just take a look at the summary of the tips below.
Differences in Each Banner and Which Should be Prioritized
Before diving into the main tips, we’ll give you an introduction to some of the features and terms you should know. First is the Banner which contains the content of characters and weapons that you can get by wishing.
Banner Beginner/Beginner – Priority: High
The main mistake of novice players wishing is to distract themselves from this Banner. Even though it looks less attractive and only guarantees Noelle’s character, through this Banner, players still get the same opportunity when doing Wish in general. The difference is that you can do 10x Wishes using only 8 Acquaint Fate or 1,280 Primogem.
The cheaper option, of course, is that you can have a chance to get 5-star characters/items too. The difference from the beginner Banner also lies in the Wish limit which is limited to 20x before it finally disappears. So if you are a new player who hasn’t done gacha or missed it, then next you have to prioritize Wish in this Banner.
Event Banners [Character Limited] – Priority: High
The Event Banner gives you the best chance to get a 5-star character. This is because thanks to the Rate Up given, your chance to get all the characters on the banner is even greater. So for example, if you are targeting a Sucrose who happens to get a Rate Up on the banner this time, then every 10 pulls where you are guaranteed to get a 4-star item/character, the chances of Sucrose appearing will also be higher.
It’s different if you aim for a 5-star character who is the main star on the banner, there is a 50% chance that the 5-star character you get first is the target character. But if you fail to get the character, then the second time you win 5-star is guaranteed 100% is the promotional character.
Banner Weapon – Priority: Medium
Potential characters must of course be equipped with good weapons too. It was times like this where the Banner Weapon would give its essential role. Every new 4-star and 5-star weapon that appears in the event banner always has good stats and effects, so you just have to adjust to the character build you’re focusing on. We deliberately give “medium” priority to this banner because unlike the character, getting a good weapon in Genshin Impact is relatively easy.
Banner Standard – Priority: Low
Don’t be tempted by the appearance of the Standard Banner with the many 5-star characters on display, because your chances of getting these characters are actually very low. Standard banners don’t have Rate Ups like in event banners or discount discounts on starter banners, which automatically makes them not good for wasting your Wish opportunity. We only recommend you to wish in this banner if you have Acquaint Fate or happen to be near Pity.
The Importance of Utilizing Pity Rate
Because the gacha rate is very low, of course there is a possibility that players will not get 5-star characters/items even after wishing hundreds of times. To avoid this scenario, miHoYo has provided a Pity Rate system. Pity Rate itself is a certain rate that provides a great opportunity for you to get a 5-star character. The explanation from the official page also states that players are guaranteed to get 5-star characters/items in 90x Wish which is equivalent to spending 14,400 Primogem.
Many players have also found Soft Pity in Genshin Impact, where your chances of getting 5-stars increase dramatically when you reach the 76th pull. So if the Pity Rate has been repeated after you get a 5-star character/weapon, you can do 10x Wishes until the 70th pull. Then you only need to do 1x Wish until you finally get 5-star. We’ve tried this method and proved successful in getting a 5-star weapon right on the 76th pull.
This method is now quite common and is used by many players so as not to spend 90x pulls to get their 5-star. You can also tell that single and multi-Wish are no different. So don’t hesitate to throw away the Fate and Primogem you have because the system will correctly record them until you get close to Pity.
Need a “Ritual” Before Gacha?
Performing a “ritual” before gacha is indeed something that sounds like a joke. But not infrequently there are players who actually get high luck by doing so. Like sitting in the hands of the statue of Barbatos in Mondstadt, going to Qinyun Peak which is the highest peak in Liyue, and so on. To prove this theory, we did a ritual at Qinyun Peak, and surprisingly managed to get 2 5-star characters in 20 consecutive wishes. We also happen to be far from pity, so this ritual does seem to provide unexpected luck.
Regardless of how lucky people are in performing the ritual before the gacha, in the end it all depends purely on one factor which is luck. But if you’re really curious about this quirky way, then there’s no harm in trying. Who knows you may get unexpected luck as expected.
Careful Tips When Doing Wish
Keep expectations as low as possible and find out if you are approaching the Pity Rate or not. These are two of the best tips before gacha in Genshin Impact. You can’t just spend for example 600 Primogem and hope to get the character you want, because it all depends entirely on luck. To get 5-star characters and weapons consistently, of course, requires a lot of Fate and Primogem. So for that, we recommend that you always save enough Primogem for a minimum of 30x pulls (4800 Primogem).
This is because there is a possibility that you will not get good results in 10x pulls, so that the motivation to save Primogem is lost. But with 30x pulls, you have more opportunities to get the desired character and weapon. Even if you still get unsatisfactory results, at least you have got a character or maybe a 4-star weapon that is useful so that your sacrifice is not completely in vain.
We also highly recommend that you don’t be tempted by a large number of 5-star characters. This is because increasing the stats and skills for just one character requires a large amount of resources, especially if the 5-star character you get is not in accordance with the playstyle and synergy you are trying to build in a team. Depending on your ability to build, 4-star characters can be monsters that are not inferior to 5-stars. In the end, always prioritize the composition of the team you want to build rather than being tempted by mere gacha.
Well, that’s the summary of the gacha tips more carefully in Genshin Impact. Hopefully with these tips you can get more enlightenment and motivation to bergacha in a wiser and more effective way.
