Metal Slug Awakening Will Soon Open Closed Beta For Android and iOS

Although it is widely known as the creator of several popular fighting game franchises such as The King of Fighters, SNK also has a high reputation in the arcade world and various iconic classic series. One of these series is none other than Metal Slug, which we believe must have been played by many Indonesian gamers in their childhood. After a long absence, finally SNK together with developer TiMi Studios and publisher Tencent have prepared a new game project entitled Metal Slug Awakening (Code: J).

As predicted, this is a new game devoted to the mobile platform. Through the exhibition event held by Tencent on May 16 yesterday, they finally shared the details of the game via new trailers. The video shows the platformer and shooter gameplay which is still very typical of the classic Metal Slug series, but this time the game is displayed with a mix of 3D graphics that looks fantastic.

In order to answer the wishes of fans who can’t wait to taste the game, TiMi Studios plans to open Closed Beta access in June. This access will be available simultaneously for Android and iOS users, where they can try out the initial testing version while providing feedback if any problems are found.

Metal Slug Awakening (Code: J) itself is still under development for Android and iOS platforms. There is no definite release schedule yet, but it looks like China will be the first region to get the game release, and this is further strengthened by the news that Tencent holds the position as a publisher. Regarding the global release, we are still positive, because Metal Slug is a universal franchise that is very popular in many regions, so it is almost certain that the game will get a global version as well.
