Considered a Negative Impact, Pokemon Go Game Will Be Discussed by DPR Commission I
Pokemon Go is a game that requires players to move here and there to find various types of Pokemon in every corner. We can catch Pokemon, develop them to be stronger, and fight to level up. The problem is, more or less a person’s way of driving is affected by this game.
Of course you’ve often seen many motorcycles that run slowly and suddenly stop every few meters. In the United States, it took just two days after the release date for the transportation department to remind users not to catch Pokemon while driving. This was triggered by several public reports and several cases related to the dangers of the streets filled with ‘Pokemon Trainers.’
As a result, if you focus too seriously on looking for Pokemon, the user loses concentration and gets into an accident. So is this game considered dangerous and needs to be blocked?
According to Deputy Chairman of Commission I of the House of Representatives, Tantowi Yahya, Pokemon Go has a bad impact on the community. Because there are many accidents. “Regarding Pokemon Go, like the information that has been obtained from other countries, it seems that there are more negative impacts. For example, various traffic accidents have been recorded, and the data already exists,” said Tantowi when met in the Commission I room of the DPR-RI Jakarta.
Therefore, the House of Representatives Commission I, which is in charge of defense, intelligence, foreign affairs, communications, and information, will discuss this game that is being loved by many people. “Next week, Commission I happens to have another working meeting with the Minister of Communication and Informatics. Maybe this will be a topic that we will discuss,” concluded Tantowi.
According to the Minister of Communication and Information, Rudi Rudiantara, whether this game is dangerous or not depends on the user. “It’s dangerous depending on the user. It’s like people using cellphones when driving, it’s possible to have an accident. This is when you play Pokemon while walking, you don’t focus, you keep crashing, it’s the user’s fault. But we’re still watching. What is worried is that those who are on the road losing concentration or those in the office who should be working are actually taking care of Pokemon,” concluded Rudiantara.
