Diablo II: Resurrected Announced, New Remastered Version That Looks Stunning!

It’s no secret that Diablo is a very iconic RPG action game franchise. Blizzard’s consistency in concocting quality games for each series has always been able to satisfy fans’ expectations, and now they have prepared unexpected surprises that are sure to make veteran fans happy. The surprise was none other than the announcement of Diablo II: Resurrected at the BlizzConline event held today.

Diablo II: Resurrected itself was developed as a remastered version of the classic Diablo II series that was released two decades ago. The classic series is recognized by many fans as the best game in the franchise, so it’s no wonder why this announcement managed to invite high enthusiasm. Instead of being curious about the form of the game, you can watch the first trailer below:

Based on information provided by Blizzard, Diablo II: Resurrected is a remastered version that brings a major overhaul to the original Diablo II game and the “Lord of Destruction” expansion. The best improvement can definitely be seen immediately from the graphic quality which has improved considerably and can even be called a remake. This is because Diablo II: Resurrected changed the rendering of the game from 2D to 3D.

The developer also brings a variety of additional graphic elements to make it look more stunning, not to mention the added support for 4K resolution and Dolby 7.1 audio. But for players who want to evoke nostalgic memories with classic graphics, there is also an additional option to change the graphics from classic and modern modes.

So far, all the new changes offered by the game look very promising, but not a few fans are worried that cases like Warcraft 3 Reforged will happen again. The good news is that this remastered project is handled directly by the developer Vicarious Visions. They’re the developers who previously worked on the remake of the Crash Bandicoot trilogy and Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2, so there’s nothing to worry about quality.

When is the Game Released?

For those who can’t wait for the game, Diablo II: Resurrected will be released in 2021. Release platforms include PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Battle.net. Incidentally, Blizzard has opened registration for the Alpha Test PC stage that you can access HERE.
