Dreamhacks Will Follow ESL Steps To Remove Banned Cheaters And Fix Score

Dreamhack is the second tournament after ESL to follow the recommendations of ESIC (Esports Integrity Coalition) regarding new rules regarding Cheat, Fixing, and Doping in CS:GO games.

This new rule will eventually be adopted by Dreamhack in both the Open and Masters classes. These rules will come into effect at the next Dreamhack tournament. In addition, ESL will also revoke players who have been affected by Cheat, Fixing, and Doping scandals since February 15, 2015. Where the biggest case that occurred was the match fixing carried out by the iBUYPOWER team. In addition, the players affected by the VAC Ban will also get a second chance in the competition arena.

After ESL became the first tournament organizer to have followed ESIC’s recommendation since last July, now Dreamhack has made the decision to participate in the change. Now only a few organizer tournaments that have not yet followed the changes, such as ELEAGUE, StarLadder, and PGL.

Here are the changes recommended by ESIC (Esports Integrity Coalition):

– Cheating: Offenders will be disqualified from the tournament, final result will not be valid, prize will be cancelled. Bans for between 2 years and for life depending on the age and level of the player (amateur/pro) as well as the size of the tournament and also how the player cheats. If the cheater is above the amateur level (big prize money or at professional events) then a minimum of 5 years ban and possibly for life.
– Match fixing and gambling: Final result does not apply, Ban for 5 years depending on the results of the ESIC Anti-Corruption Code investigation and ban can be longer depending on conditions. Cancellation of prizes and monetary penalties (if known before the tournament ends then the team will be disqualified).
– Doping to improve performance: Final result cancelled, Ban around 1-2 years, prize cancellation (if known before the tournament ends then the team will be disqualified).
– Manipulation and bribery in competitions: Final result void, Ban around 1-2 years, cancellation of prizes, and monetary fines (if known before the tournament ends then the team will be disqualified).

That way, we will be able to see veteran CS:GO players who were forced to quit after being hit by a case Cheats, Fixing, Doping and VAC at the competition level. Are old names like Joshua “steel” Nissan, Braxton “swag” Pierce, Sam “DaZeD” Marine, and Keven “AZK” Lariviere of the team
iBUYPOWER will soon return to the CS:GO competition scene?
