ESEA Implements the Latest Anti Cheat in the iBUYPOWER Masters Tournament

ESEA has created the latest version of anti-cheat technology to be implemented in every CS:GO LAN tournament. They will begin implementing the technology at the iBUYPOWER Masters tournament November 12-13 and IEM Oakland November 16-20.

ESEA used to create software anti-cheats for a number of years, but the latest one is now the first physical anti-cheat tool to be built. The announcement says that the device will not be exclusive to events hosted by ESEA or its parent company ESL, but will be offered to any tournament that “meets the basic requirements” of the device.

“Prizepool prizes are growing every year, event organizers have begun to shift the focus of their events to LAN matches, and there is more and more news about the possibility of cheating in LAN tournaments,” said an ESEA press release.

“Event organizers, such as DreamHack and ESL, already have strict guidelines that must be followed to ensure cheating doesn’t occur, and today we are adding additional protections on top of existing protocols and ESEA will be releasing anti-cheats designed to suit the requirements of the tournament.”

Not much has been revealed how the anti-cheat system works, but more details are expected to be revealed at the iBUYPOWER Masters tournament which takes place this Saturday.
