ESL and ZEN Esports Hold CS:GO Tournament for Asia Pacific Region
ESL Australia and ZEN Esports Network will hold a $100,000 Counter-Strike: Global Offensive tournament in 2017 for the Asia Pacific region, namely Australia, New Zealand and Asia.
This tournament will be held 2 times a year, each season will last for 2-3 months. The first season will be held on February 4 – April 13, the matches will be held online and the final will be held on LAN.
There were a total of 8 teams competing, team Athletico and Chiefs eSports Club from Australia automatically got a quota for this tournament after they qualified as grand finalists in the ESL ANZ Season 2. In the semifinals Athletico managed to beat Team Immunity 2-1, while Chiefs eSports Club beat Parallax 2-0.
The other two teams from Australia and New Zealand will be decided by the Crown Invitational tournament on January 14th, while the remaining four places will be allocated to teams from the Asian region. Further details on the qualifications in the Asian region will be announced in the next few weeks.
