FF VII Remake Will No Longer Get DLC Until Sequel Is Complete
The surprise that Square Enix brought through Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade last month managed to bring a new wave of enthusiasm. It’s just that there are some fans who feel that Square Enix applies a slightly unfortunate practice, such as how the remake project that has been broken up in the format of several episodes still gets additional paid DLC for the first game. In response to this, Tetsuya Nomura as the co-director of the game gave a few new details through an interview session with Famitsu.
When asked about plans for future DLC? Nomura confirmed that Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade was actually prepared as an upgraded version for PlayStation 5. However, due to various upgrades that have been implemented, they had to provide additional Yuffie episodes as “DLC”. Therefore, Nomura and his team have no plans to make any more DLC, at least until the sequel to the game is completed.
He also added that currently the development team is putting full focus on the roadmap to complete the second game. Thanks to the experience they got from optimizing the Intergrade version on PlayStation 5, they also got the feedback they needed to make the process of developing their second game smoother.
Although there is no further discussion regarding Final Fantasy VII Remake Part II, Nomura at least has returned to share details from Intergrade. The latest details relate to the gameplay system which is quite different, where players can control Yuffie and the newest character Sonon in more varied combinations. Between making Sonon move on his own or following Yuffie’s orders, players can execute cool combos that show their dynamism in battle. Especially for the Yuffie episode, there will be additional new Materia and Summons as well.
Incidentally we had time to summarize the complete details of Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade in previous article. So make sure to check also for those of you who want to know more about this latest version.
