Genshin Impact x KFC Collaboration in China Ends Too Big and Out of Control
The great success that has been achieved by Genshin Impact so far proves that this game has a very guaranteed future. Apart from the huge profits that miHoYo managed to get in a short time, they also managed to attract the interest of many new players. One of the new marketing strategies for Genshin Impact that they implemented was a collaboration campaign with the fast food brand KFC.
The collaboration, which was recently held in China, turned out to have received an unexpected response, where various KFC outlets were invaded by lots of customers as if they were fans waiting in line to watch a big concert. It was so extreme, not even a few customers were willing to queue up from dawn and make tents in order to secure the initial queue. This does not include buyers who know how to get Noelle and Diluc’s character stands.
The situation of the collaboration itself has been quoted by a well-known game analyst Daniel Ahmad which you can see in some of his Twitter posts below:
Ok, this is actually getting insane
As per the tweet below, there is a KFC x Genshin Impact collab in China. Starting tomorrow fans can get a pin badge as a bonus
There are already many people lining up outside KFC’s across the country at midnight for a chance to get one first https://t.co/BxVaFWn9GV pic.twitter.com/5Chzj741eZ

Fans can get a special Genshin Impact branded meal, in game content and an exclusive KFC branded pin / badge.
I’ve never seen anything like this before for KFC, lol pic.twitter.com/a5DtSYpodJ

Even though the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic no longer have a major impact in China, the police are still trying to secure the crowds so they can be more orderly and maintain health protocols. A very unexpected phenomenon, of course, especially for a collaborative campaign at a fast food outlet like this. However, from this incident we can also get an idea of how much enthusiasm the Genshin Impact community has.
This collaboration event between Genshin Impact and KFC offers food packages with additional interesting content. Apart from food packages that come with special containers, there are also exclusive content in the form of KFC pins/badges and Wind Glider skins which are dominated by red and white colors. The collaboration is indeed only devoted to China, but miHoYo confirmed that the KFC-themed Wind Glider skin will also be brought to the global server.
