Hololive Gets a Fantasy Manga Adaptation from Mangaka Goblin Slayer
Hololive’s dominance as the largest Virtual YouTuber agency company today is an undeniable fact. In addition to getting a very high follower base from each VTuber under their banner, they have also prepared a large-scale project called Hololive Alternative. As part of the project, Hololive recently announced a manga adaptation titled Holoearth Chronicles.
Announced for the first time through the official Hololive Alternative Twitter account, the manga with the full title Holoearth Chronicles Side: E ~Yamato Fantasia~ comes with a fantasy genre. The storyline focuses on two well-known VTubers, Ookami Mio and Shirakami Fubuki, where they go on an adventure as two knights in a fantasy world and have to face various enemies under Ayame’s subordinates. This battle scene happened to be shown on teaser videos project that was showcased last month.
Chapter 0 of “Holoearth Chronicles Side:E ~Yamato Phantasia~”, a new manga set in the Alternative world, will be released at 7 PM JST today!🎉
Future chapters will be released irregularly, so follow this account for updates!✨#hololiveALT pic.twitter.com/fNOmbv4qFh

Interestingly, the first chapter of this manga turned out to be done by Kosuke Kurose who is the mangaka of Goblin Slayer. Maybe this can be a confirmation that the next chapters will still be handled by Kurose, or maybe the manga is made into a collaborative project of various illustrators working on different chapters. It should also be noted that Holoearth Chronicles is not the first manga adaptation for Hololive, because in 2020 there was a manga that focused on Mizuryu Kei’s VTuber Houshou Marine which unfortunately ended up being canceled.
Still around Hololive Alternative, it just so happens that this project includes a variety of new content ranging from virtual shows to online game adaptation. Regarding the online game itself, the CEO Motoaki Tanigo has opened a new job listing to look for talented staff who can help in the development process.
