New Sequel? Krafton is reportedly developing PUBG 2 and PUBG Mobile 2

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, a game that has succeeded in bringing up the trend of the Battle Royale genre, has proven to be able to maintain the hype until now. Apart from the player base which is still very crowded on PC and mobile platforms, this game also has full support from Krafton. Maybe you’ve heard the news that PUBG will get a new single-player based game. But it seems that there are still other surprises that are not yet known to fans.

The surprise was the PUBG 2 and PUBG Mobile 2 sequel projects, which have reportedly been under development since early last year. This information was first shared by a Twitter user @PlayerIGN, where he translated reports from the South Korean news site MTN. The report also gives little hint that the game is likely to be released cross-platform for PC, console, and mobile.

Additional information from PlayerIGN also mentions that PUBG 2 was developed by Seoul HQ Krafton. While PUBG Mobile 2 is handled by the core team that handles PUBG Lite. Considering that PUBG Lite is starting to rarely get significant updates, it could be because their core team is really focusing on developing PUBG Mobile 2.

Given this leaked information has been reported since November last year, the official announcement of the game could be arriving in the near future. We also have a guess that the purported “2” label as a sequel is probably just a large-scale update. An example can be compared to the Chapter 2 update for Fortnite, which at the time brought a lot of changes and new content to the game.

Again, this is all just information that may not be completely accurate, so for now we can only be patient waiting for the official announcement directly from Krafton.
