Bayern Munich and Real Madrid to Compete in the FIFA Interactive World Cup

Football teams that already have a FIFA 17 esports roster will receive a direct invitation to compete in the FIFA Interactive World Cup tournament. Some of the clubs that were invited were West Ham, Valencia CF, Manchester City FC, VFL Wolfsburg, FC Schalke 04, and Sporting CP.

Other big clubs such as FC Bayern Munich, CFC Genua, Paris Saint-German, PSV Eindhoven and Real Madrid are still waiting for confirmation. Unlike in 2016, the prize pool at the tournament was only $20,000. This number is relatively very small compared to other competitive games.

Fortunately, this year’s FIFA Interactive World Cup tournament, the prize awarded is $200,000, an increase of 10 times compared to last year. The tournament will have an online qualification round from 1 October 2016 to 30 April 2017.

In the 2016 grand final match, the number of viewers who watched live streaming was 1.8 million people and 2.5 million people watched on tv channels. Although this tournament is still relatively small with the large number of professional football teams that make up FIFA 17’s esports division, it is estimated that the number of fans can grow significantly.
