Bend Nigma 2-1, Alliance Unbeaten in Upper Division DPC EU 2021 S2
Alliance continues positive results in Upper Division DPC EU 2021 Masters. After winning two matches against Team Liquid and OG, the Sweden-based team managed to overthrow Nigma 2-1 through an exciting and tense game.
Three wins at the start of this season became the perfect start for Nikolay ‘Nikobaby’ Nikolov et al in the campaign to the next Major. Alliance topped the standings with a record without defeat, followed by their rival, Team Secret, stuck in second place.
Alliance has returned to its best game after appearing less enthusiastic at the Singapore Major. With a 3-0 win record, Alliance is almost certain to secure one of the four EU slots.
The Alliance vs Nigma match in Game 1 presents a duel between the two teams’ carry; Nikolay “Nikobaby” Nikolov uses the Wraith King while Igor “iLTW” Filatov uses the Gyrocopter. Both compete and lead in kills, where Gyrocopter has a narrow lead. The game changer occurred when Nicobaby built the Divine Rapier. Alliance even sacrificed the bottom set of barracks until the Wraith King managed to get a Rapier for the next fight. The Wraith King gave the Alliance a huge advantage and began to dominate. While Gyrocopter finally managed to make a rapier, but it was too late. Alliance also won Game 1.

Entering Game 2, it was the turn of captain Nigma Kuro “KuroKy” Salehi Takhasomi to display a brilliant game. KuroKy played Oracle and Maroun “GH” Merhej with Tusk, plus Faceless Void and Invoker. Several clutch saves from the two Nigma supports help with farming and leveling. Core Nigma managed to carry the team in the war. Nigma managed to equalize 1-1.

In Game 3, the Alliance team responded with improvements on the supports side. Artison “fng” Barshak uses Warlock and Simon “Handsken” Haag uses Shadow Demon playing well in terms of timing, positioning and spells. Handsken brilliantly saves for cores stuck in Chronoshpere. Nigma’s efforts in every war often fail and are countered. Handsken, who was selected as MVP in the interview session after the match, said that he was actually waiting for Faceless Void Nigmat. Meanwhile, Linus “Limmp” Blomdin is again the best Dragon Knights.
