DreamHack Masters Las Vegas Prize Pool Prize of $450,000
DreamHack Masters Las Vegas has officially announced the venue and date of the CS:GO event for a prize pool of $450,000. It is the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino that has been chosen as the venue for the tournament which will take place on 15-19 February 2017.
This tournament will be participated by 16 teams, the group stage will be held at the MGM Grand Casino and the playoffs for the top 8 teams will take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on 18-19 February. DreamHack Masters Las Vegas is the second tournament to be held after DreamHack Master Malmö last April.
In that tournament Ninjas in Pajamas team came out as the first winner after defeating Natus Vincere 2-0 in the grand final, NiP is also entitled to the main prize of the tournament of $250,000. In the tournament, a CS:GO team from China, TyLoo, made a surprise by defeating favorite teams such as Team Liquid and SK Gaming (now Luminosity Gaming) to advance to the playoffs.
DreamHack Masters Las Vegas is not the first esports event to be held in the gambling city of Las Vegas, United States. The 2016 North American LCS Spring Finals League of Legends tournament was held at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino last April, while the Call of Duty and Overwatch matches at the MLG Las Vegas event on 24 October also took place at Mandalay Bay.
