Hand, Shoulder and Neck Injuries For Esports Gamers
Esports doctor, John Svard said that gamers or esports athletes could experience injuries to their hands, shoulders and neck, if they did not pay attention to physical activities. Doctor John Svard himself, has handled several Esports players ranging from Dota 2 players, CS GO to League of legends.
Injuries that afflict esports athletes are not sprains and so on, but are pain that comes to the wrist, shoulder or neck. And healing that pain can take a long time.
Gamers of course have experienced, when playing games for a long time, the neck becomes stiff so that it automatically moves the head to the right, left or front and back, to feel more comfortable.
Sitting in front of the computer for a long time and focusing on the game, will cause the muscles to not move much, so that blood flow becomes less smooth. Imagine if the blood flow is not smooth this lasts for several years. For a brief period, it may just be a feeling of discomfort, or stiffness. But for an extended period of time, such as years, it can lead to injury.
The injury that appears is pain in parts such as the wrist, shoulder or neck. If you feel pain, it is the accumulation of lack of smooth blood in certain parts over the years.
The pain will not be able to go away quickly, just with a night’s sleep. This pain can be categorized as an injury. And to get rid of this pain requires a long treatment. Before the pain goes away, gamers will find it difficult to play or compete.
So the advice for gamers before all this happens is, every half or 1 hour, try to do some physical movement, and don’t sit in front of the computer for hours without moving.
Monitor is placed at eye level, and one thing that is quite important too, drink enough.
If the injury has come, regret is too late.
