Microsoft Begins Testing 1080p Streaming on xCloud
As one of the largest companies today, Microsoft began to spread its wings by developing cloud gaming them, xCloud. Recently, a report shows that Microsoft is testing their streaming service at 1080p resolution for xCloud.

According to a report by WindowsCentral, they report that Microsoft is testing its xCloud service so that it can run games with high resolution. From the pictures, you can see statistics like bandwidth, jitter, to the stability of the connection.
In the image, it is also shown that the game is running at a resolution of 1920x1080p. For your information, the current xCloud service can only stream games at 720p resolution. Improvements made by Microsoft is fairly reasonable.
The reason is, most television screens, monitors, and smartphones are already 1080p or higher. However, the lower resolution makes for a smoother and more consistent streaming experience.
Interestingly, Microsoft looks confident to increase the resolution from xCloud to 1080p. Unfortunately, there is no certainty whether this upgrade will be released soon or not. Chances are, this update will be present in the next few months.
xCloud Prepares 150 Game Titles
For your information, Microsoft says that it is currently making improvements to Touch and Control xCloud. Microsoft also said that Minecraft Dungeons was the first game to use this system.
