On the 35th anniversary of Super Mario Bros., Nintendo revealed a number of big projects to come. Those projects include a Switch port for Super Mario 3D World to the Super Mario 3D All-Starts Collection. The Super Mario 3D All-Starts Collection will feature Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine and Super Mario Galaxy.

But of all these announcements, there is one announcement that was completely unexpected in advance. This announcement is the latest series titled Super Mario Bros. 35. What’s interesting about Super Mario Bros. is the genre set by Nintendo, namely Battle Royale.

Super Mario Bros. 35 Battle Royale is rumored to have a capacity of 35 players per game. This number of players equates to the current anniversary of Super Mario Bros. Later the players will fight on the old school map. The player who can survive until the end, then he who wins the game.

Unlike other battle royale genre games, Super Mario Bros. 35 will contain 2 screens on both sides of the main screen which will show 34 other players. There are no major changes in the way Super Mario Bros. players. The players are only required to be the furthest or survive past the existing enemies and obstacles. What’s different is, when a player succeeds in defeating an enemy, the enemy will be teleported to another player’s gameplay. Or from enemies other players will teleport to your gameplay. This is what makes the game even more challenging.

The player who manages to survive through many additional enemies and obstacles or last Mario standing, will be the winner. Players will also still get items from Super Mario Bros. such as mushrooms, stars, coins and sparks that can help during the game.

Super Mario Bros. Battle Royale sounds and looks very interesting, but unfortunately Nintendo is only releasing this game for a limited time. Super Mario Bros. Battle Royale is available from October 1 and ends on March 31, 2021. This game is available exclusively on Nintendo Switch Online. Which means, only those who are subscribed can access this game.
