Team Secret Remodels Roster After Failing to Achieve Maximum Results at The International 7

After only managing to occupy positions 9-12 at The International 7 event, Team Secret decided to reshuffle their team by replacing 2 of their players, namely Maurice ‘KheZu’ Gutmann and Noa ‘MP’ Pyo.

Losing to Team Liquid in the second round of the Lower Bracket made Team Secret management feel disappointed with their team’s performance at The International 2017. Due to this disappointment, they decided to change the roster to bring new possibilities to Team Secret’s game. The first team released by Team Secret was Noa ‘MP’ Pyo who has a safelaner role in the team. The second player to be released was Maurice ‘KheZu’ Gutmann who joined Team Secret to replace ForeV after they failed to enter the Boston Major tournament.

Successfully qualifying for The International 7 through the European Qualifiers and being in first position makes Team Secret look as one of the teams to be reckoned with. Unfortunately during the group phase, Team Secret was not able to play well and was forced to enter the Lower Bracket round in the Main Event. Then they managed to win against the Dota 2 team from the SEA region, namely Execration and qualified for the second round. But then they had to meet Team Liquid who surprisingly lost to Invictus Gaming.

Finally they had to fall in the event The International after losing 2-1 to Team Liquid. Unlike the story with Team Secret, Team Liquid, who lost for the first time in the Upper Bracket, was then able to come out as champion of The International 7 and was entitled to a prize of 144 billion Rupiah. As for Team Secret, losing in 9-12 positions had to be satisfied with a prize of $370,319 or around 4.9 billion Rupiah.
