The CG anime film Monster Hunter: Legends of the Guild is coming to Netflix this August!

Today, Monster Hunter: Legends of the Guild not only get official trailer but also release date, where is the movie Netflix Original it will arrive on the platform on 12 August! Since announced in july 2021, just a little news about animation Special 3D based on Capcom’s Monster Hunter series of games. So this release is a bit of a surprise to many fans!

This film was animated by Pure Imagination Studios, famous for animation Lego, including The Simpsons, Lego Batman, and Lego Cars.

The Monster Hunter series has gained explosive popularity worldwide since the launch of the PlayStation 2 game Monster Hunter by Capcom in 2004. This action hunting game has sold 72 million copies across the series (as of March 31, 2021) , and thrilled the world by developing cooperative play between players through hunting monsters in beautiful natural areas. The newest entry in this series is Monster Hunter Rise, game launched for Nintendo Switch on 26 March 2021, and role-playing games Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin, which just released last July 9 for Nintendo Switch and PC. And now, this global hit game series is about to be reborn as a Netflix Anime Movie.

Capturing the mood of the game, the film is set in a world where humans, nature, and giants coexist while carefully maintaining balance.

A young man named Aiden, who calls himself hunter, protecting his remote village. One day, he learns that his village is being threatened by Elder Dragons, a giant in mystery. Aiden needs to find a way to save his village, he then leaves his home and embarks on a journey to the unknown together Julius, first-class hunter and members of the Hunter’s Guild, and his friends…

Thus begins the origin story that highlights the characters in the world of Monster Hunter who are still in the background today. The protagonist of this title, Aiden, is the same character as Ace Cadet in Monster Hunter 4 and The Excitable A-Lister in Monster Hunter: World. This film tells his story from the time before he became a full-fledged hunter.

Steven F. Yamamoto direct the project Monster Hunter: Legends of the Guild at Pure Imagination Studios, and Joshua Fine (Ultimate Spider-Man) wrote the script. Ryōzō Tsujimoto, Kaname Fujioka, Takahiro Kawano, and Andrew Alfonso supervise the project.
