Wings Gaming Keeps The International 2016 Champion

Li “iceice” Peng was the last player to return to Wings Gaming, thus there was no change in the roster of the 2016 winners of The International. Prior to the ‘roster drop’ on September 4, Wings Gaming did not register all its players on the Valve registration website.

Of course, it surprised the public and many wondered what was going on inside the Wings Gaming team, even though this roster’s journey in 2016 was fantastic by winning ESL One Manila, The Summit 5 and of course TI6. In the end, many people’s questions were answered after one by one the players were re-registered by Wings Gaming.

Zhou “bLink” Yang, Zhang “y`” Yiping and Zhang “Faith_bian” Ruida were the first players to be registered by the organization, a day later Chu “shadow” Zeyu joined the roster. And finally (September 13th) with the arrival of Li “iceice” Peng, the complete line-up that was formed since August 25, 2015.

By maintaining the lineup of players who won at TI 6, Wings Gaming broke the habits of the previous winning teams of The International. As we all know, the Newbee team after becoming the TI 4 champion immediately disabled their team captain Chen “Hao” Zhihao and the TI 5 champion Evil Geniuses replaced Kurtis “Aui_2000” Ling with another player.

It seems that the saying “Don’t Change The Winning Team” is applied by Wings Gaming to its The International 2016 champion line-up. Because in just a short period of a year, Wings Gaming, which was originally not well-known, could become the big team it is today.
