India Boycott Mobile Legends, Why?

India calls for boycott of Mobile Legends, why? Tensions between India and China have been running high in recent weeks. During this time of conflict, many parties in India have taken the initiative to boycott Chinese goods and applications from their mobile phones.

Messages circulating on social media claim that the IT Ministry has issued an order banning certain Chinese apps on the Google Play Store and App Store. The message includes a list that also features games like Mobile Legends, Clash of Kings, and Gale of Sultan along with other popular Chinese apps like TikTok and CamScanner.

Investigating it, the government has clarified that the order is fake and there is no such call on either the Google Play Store or Apple.

But clarification from the Indian government hasn’t stopped hashtags like #BoycottChina on Twitter and videos of people removing Chinese apps and appliances like TV from their homes trending on social media. This has caused confusion among fans of the MOBA Mobile Legends game: Bang Bang.

As we know, Mobile Legends is a game created and published by Moonton for Android and iOS phones. Moonton was founded in April 2014 as YoungJoy Technology Limited, which later became Shanghai Moonton Technology Co. Ltd. So, it is a Chinese video game developer because the publisher is based in Shanghai.

Despite the Anti-China sentiment, MLBB remains firmly on the top apps list. The store ranking has not changed on the Google Play Store since April 2020 and remains at number 48. This shows that the problems of India and China do not have much influence on the Indian people who play Mobile Legends.
