Airing Next Month, DOTA Gets Original Anime Series from Netflix!

Netflix seems to never be separated from the new rush to offer a variety of quality shows. Besides being known as a very popular streaming service provider, from time to time they are always involved in their own original series projects. If a while ago many gamers were shocked by the announcement of the anime series adaptation of Tomb Raider, today they are back with a big surprise through a new original anime titled DOTA: Dragon’s Blood.

This announcement was made for the first time on the account Twitter official DOTA 2 with the appearance of the first trailer of the anime. Not much information is shared including the details of the story, but this anime will explore the DOTA universe further and give fans a new picture of the conflicts that occur in its world. Unlike the announcements of Netflix’s original Tomb Raider and Dragon’s Dogma anime, they’re already in the advanced stages of preparation for DOTA: Dragon’s Blood. The proof can also be seen from how this anime will soon be aired on March 25. Through collaboration with Valve, we can also guess that they want to bring the anime announcement closer to the broadcast schedule to further increase fans’ enthusiasm.

Besides DOTA: Dragon’s Blood, another MOBA game as well as its biggest rival, League of Legends, also has its own animated series. Titled Arcane, this anime series is still in the development stage which has been going on for quite a while since its announcement in 2019.

As we mentioned earlier, Netflix has developed its own original anime series from time to time. Some of the best are Devilman Crybaby, Baki, Aggretsuko, Japan Sinks, B: The Beginning, and many more. Especially with the proliferation of anime adaptations of games that are starting to become Netflix’s new focus, it will be very interesting to see what other games will get adaptations in the future.
