Take-Two Claims Many People Are Ready for Next-Gen Game Price Increases

The start of the era of a new generation of consoles through the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X has brought a major breakthrough in the development of the gaming industry. In addition to giving developers the opportunity to mix new games with superior quality, next-gen consoles are also the target of many people who are interested in making them the main platform.

It’s just that there are a few obstacles, because apart from the limited stock of consoles (especially the PlayStation 5), most AAA games that have touched next-gen quality are priced at a higher price than usual. For example, the exclusive game Demon’s Souls Remake on PlayStation 5, whose price has already penetrated 1 million rupiah in Indonesia. Maybe many people feel that setting aside a large amount of money to buy next-gen games is a difficult decision, but Strauss Zelnic who is CEO of Take-Two Interactive has a different opinion.

Through the information that has been successfully summarized by the media Video Game Chronicle, they captured Zelnic’s comments from the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media & Telecom Conference event. Through his comments, Zelnic said that an increase in the price for NBA 2K21 at USD 70 is something that is normal and has been accepted by many people. This is also because the game offers various new upgrades to maximize the gaming experience.

The price increase for next-gen games is understandable, if the game offers quality that matches fans’ expectations when trying out games on new generation consoles. NBA 2K21 itself does offer a special makeover to maximize the experience, but sports games like this, especially from the 2K series, do not bring significant improvements and end up with harsh criticism every year.

Regardless of whether the quality offered by the game meets expectations or not, what is clear is that an increase in price like this is something that has not been accepted by all circles.
