Alert! There's a Fake Crowdfunding Page In the Name of Coral Island on Indiegogo

The success of Coral Island as one of the newest indie games from local developers is indeed inviting joy. After successfully achieving the Kickstarter campaign target with a funding of IDR 14 billion, now the developer can focus on developing the game to bring solid quality and according to fans’ expectations. Unfortunately, their success has been exploited by a sly person who is trying to extort funds from fans who really want to support the game. The way they do? is to open the Coral Island fake donation page on the site Indiegogo.

This news was known by the developer who then immediately made an announcement through their official social media account. Currently the developer of Stairway Games has contacted Indiegogo to immediately turn off the page, but at least until this news is written the page is still active and even received funding of USD 4,066 or around IDR 58 million more than 63 Backer.

At first glance, the page does look legit and even includes the full profile of the developer as well. So it’s no wonder why many people can be deceived, especially when the case was caught after the fake person got a large amount of funds. There is no certainty about when the page will actually be turned off and whether the funds will be returned to the Backers or given to the developer.
