Black Clover Anime Will Be Discontinued in Episode 170, Important Announcement Follows
Born as one of Shueisha’s new flagship shnen manga series, Black Clover seems to have come a long way over the last few years. Starting from a series that was considered too forced to develop into a quality shonen work, it is not surprising to see how this series already has a very wide fan base around the world.
However, fans seem to have to be ready to face the unfortunate new news, namely the announcement of the discontinuation of the Black Clover anime series. This information was submitted by the producer Avex Pictures which confirms that the anime will stop at episode 170. The episode will air on March 30 and also includes an “important announcement” that fans definitely don’t want to miss.
If you look at the situation how the anime is approaching the latest chapter in the manga, this stop is not surprising at all. We assume that Studio Pierrot will announce the continuation of the anime in the future when there is enough story material. Some fans even speculate that Studio Pierrot will later shift their focus to producing the final arc for the Bleach anime. But of course all this is still just speculation, let alone there is no information about which studio will hold the adaptation.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with the series, Black Clover is a manga by Yuki Tabata which debuted in 2015. This series was immediately included in the mainstay manga line in Weekly Shonen Jump and has continued to get wide marketing since then.
Black Clover itself tells the story of a young man named Asta who dreams of becoming a Wizard King. His dream is very difficult to pursue because since birth Asta does not have the ability to use Mana. But without despair, he and his close friend Yuno embark on a long adventure in the Clover kingdom which is full of disasters and mysteries.
