Capcom Delays Resident Evil RE:Verse Open Beta Due to Matchmaking Issues

Just a few hours before the Open Beta opens for the newest multiplayer game Resident Evil RE:Verse, Capcom brings bad news to its fans. Through their official announcement last week, it turned out that there was a serious matchmaking problem that forced the OBT to be canceled until further notice.

Even though it was sudden, we think this is the most appropriate decision to take. This is because Resident Evil RE:Verse has received a less open reception, especially from a poor track record for Resident Evil games with a multiplayer basis. If the impression given from the Open Beta is already bad and full of problems, then the interest of players will automatically decrease drastically, regardless of whether the final version can be better or not.

Regarding the game concept itself, Resident Evil RE: Verse is a 3v3 multiplayer game that is ready to bring an exciting shooter experience with iconic characters from the Resident Evil franchise such as Leon, Jill, Ada, Chris, Claire, to HUNK. Each character has its own characteristics and special abilities in hunting zombies. If the player dies, there will be an option to transform into special BOW monsters such as Hunter y, Super Tyrant, Nemesis, and even Jack Baker too. A purer gameplay approach to Team Shooter like this will probably attract more attention than Resident Evil: Resistance.

So like the information above, Open Beta access for Resident Evil RE:Verse is still being canceled until further notice. As for the main game, namely Resident Evil Village will be released on May 7th for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.
